The official announcement for JEE Main 2023 Dates

JEE Main session 1 is held for the aspirants who wish to get admission in the top engineering colleges in India like the Indian Institute of Technology or IITs, the National Institute of Technology or NITs and Centrally Funded Institue of Technology or CFIT etc. Undergraduate programs in engineering like Bachelor in Engineering also known as BE and Bachelor in Technology popularly called Btech in such colleges require filtration of candidates. Prestigious colleges only selected the elite candidates who have secured enough rank in their JEE Main so as to qualify for the seats in their colleges. This makes JEE the most important step for an aspiring engineer.

The NTA has released the following dates for the Main Exams of JEE’s both sessions which are to be held in January and April respectively. The applications have started pouring since the 15th of December 2022 for the January session.

This datasheet has made a lot of aspirants angry as the class 12th board exams not only for CBSE but for Assam and Bihar state boards might be overlapping with it. Assam state board has released the datasheet for the intermediate-level examination to be held from the 25th of February which is conflicting with the JEE Mains.

At the same time, Bihar board exams are supposed to begin on the 1st of February which will again be just a day after the last exam of the JEE mains. Hence no time will be left for the students to prepare for their board exams. CBSE board is expected to take the practicals of the students in the month of January leaving the youth in utter confusion.

JEE Main Exams 75% criteria

At the same time, another eligibility criterion for JEE Mains has been added which is to attain 75% marks in their 12th board exam. Those who will appear for the Joint Entrance Exam in January would not get enough time to pass their 12th boards, let alone get 75% above marks.

Then, there is a whole different group of candidates who have dropped two and three years in preparation for the Entrance exam. These candidates had passed with marks less than 75% in the 12th board when there was no such eligibility requirement. They will not be selected for the JEE Mains which might be the only goal thing they had been preparing for all those years.

Plea regarding JEE Main 2023 Postponed

The aspirants who are raising pleas on Twitter for the JEE Main 2023 Postponed have a genuine concern. Students still in their final school year will have to be present in their practical board exams to pass class 12th, therefore it makes it extremely complicated for the applicants to be focused on their JEE Main exam. Even the 75% criteria created havoc for the aspirants as they demand a fair trial like used to be earlier.

The students seek justice through the trending “#jeemainspostpone”, “#remove75%criteria” and “#postponejeemains2023” on Twitter. They are even tagging the authorities including NTA, the Minister of Education and even prime minister Narendra Modi.

NTA has received several pleas from the applicants and time is running out. National Testing Agency has not responded to them as of now but they might have to as it is the question of the future for these young souls.
